TWO WORKSHOPS. ONE GOAL: BETTER BADMINTON

Train with Olympic medallists Marcus Ellis and Chris Langridge in a focused small-group environment designed to deliver real improvement.

Suitable for adult players of all ages.

 Intermediate Workshop

Saturday, 11 July 2026

Loughborough University

09:30-17:00

This workshop is designed for regular club players who want to improve the consistency and quality of their game.

You’ll work on the key foundations that make the biggest difference at intermediate level, including movement efficiency, correct grips and technique, and better decision-making during rallies. Marcus and Chris will break down the details that help you hit with more control, move more efficiently, and recover faster between shots.

The sessions focus on practical improvements you can take straight back into club matches.

We’ll focus on:

• Efficient movement and court coverage – this can come from improved footwork or a better understanding of where the next shot is likely to go.
• Doubles positioning during different stages of the rally, along with learning how to rotate more efficiently.
• Improving shot quality and consistency – understanding when accuracy is more important than power, and when the opposite may apply.
• Defensive skills – becoming solid and learning to spot the gaps to hit into, as well as staying calm and composed when transitioning from defence to attack.
• Understanding shot selection in attack – using power in a poor position can result in even more problems.

Who this workshop is for:

This workshop is aimed at players who play regularly at club or league level and have a solid foundation but want to take their game to the next level. It is not aimed at players who have just started their journey and may not yet know the basic shots or movements.

If you can sustain rallies comfortably and play competitive club matches, this workshop is likely to be the right level for you.

 Advanced Workshop

Sunday, 12 July 2026

Loughborough University

09:30-17:00

This workshop is designed for experienced players who want to refine the details that make the difference at a higher level. If you believe yourself to be a county player or above – we are confident we can help to take your game to the next level.

The focus will be on how to make a number of marginal gains — this comes from being smart on court, being organised and hard to beat as a pair, and analysing the percentages based on the likely shot from your opponent depending on the level of pressure they are under.
Marcus and Chris will share the technical and tactical insights that helped them succeed at international level, with sessions designed to challenge both your shot selection when under pressure and decision making on what to cover as a partnership.

You’ll work at a higher intensity with more demanding drills and regular individual feedback throughout the day.

We’ll focus on:

• Advanced drills as a pair – learning to cover your partner and play shots that support each other.
• Creating and finishing attacking opportunities – how to set up your partner so you can work together effectively.
• Doubles tactics and rotations at a higher pace – learning to cover the court more quickly through anticipation and gap-filling.
• Shot selection under pressure – one of the biggest reasons players lose rallies is choosing the wrong shot when the pressure increases.
• Improving pace and accuracy on all shots – learning where to play your shots and why.

Who this workshop is for:

This workshop is aimed at players who compete regularly and already have strong technical foundations but want to push their game further.
If you are one of the strongest players at your club, compete in regular tournaments, or represent your county, this workshop is likely to be the right fit.

High intermediate to advanced players usually compete regularly in leagues or tournaments and are among the stronger players at their club.
